Dates and Times:
Classes for the first week begin on Tuesday,
July 6th, at 7:00 P.M. Plan to arrive
a few hours early to register, get
settled, and eat dinner. The first
week finishes on Sunday, July 11th,
after lunch.
Classes for the second week begin on Tuesday,
July 13th, at 7:00 P.M. The second week
finishes on Sunday, July 18th, after lunch.
As class space is limited, we encourage students to sign up as early as possible.
Tuition, Room
and Board:
The Residential Registration
Fee includes Tuition, Room, and Board. Rates
are for a Single or Double room with 3
good meals per day. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian
meals are available.
Commuter rates are
available for those who do not stay on
campus. Commuter rates do not include
room, but do include 3 good meals per day.
Cost
through May 30 (Early Registration):
Early Registration Tuition, room and board
is $1095 per week for double occupancy, $1325
per week for single occupancy, space
permitting, $1000 per week for commuting
students (includes 3 meals).
Cost after May 30 (June Registration):
Tuition, room and board is $1095 per
week for double occupancy, $1425 per
week for single occupancy, space permitting, $1100
per week for commuting students.
Students staying for 2 weeks receive a discount on the second week's tuition (see tuiton table on the Registration Page), but they must pay for room and board at Sweetbriar if they wish to remain on campus for the 2-day interim. Also, a $200 discount is given to full time students.
Terms:
A deposit of $500 will guarantee a
place in the course until June 15th, on
which date the remaining balance is due.
A $75 late charge will apply to past due
payments.
Rooms are air-conditioned. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals are available.
Cancellation/Refund Policy:
Cancellations received in writing or by
email and postmarked on or before June
6, will receive a refund, minus a
$100 processing fee. Cancellations made
after June 6, 2010 will forfeit the full
$500 deposit.
No refunds can be given for cancellations
received after June 22.
Sweet Briar College is located 12 miles north of Lynchburg, Virginia on U.S. 29, three miles south of its intersection with U.S. 60 at Amherst. The College is 100 miles west of Richmond, 30 miles east of Lexington, 50 miles south of Charlottesville, and 165 miles southwest of Washington, D.C. (map). If you are flying to the workshop, fly to the Lynchburg Airport, where you will be met by Sweet Briar College Transport. Shuttle transport is also available from the Lynchburg train and bus stations.
