Elisabeth Walker*** ELISABETH WALKER
trained as an Alexander Technique Teacher with F. M. Alexander from 1938 to 1947. From 1984 to 2000 she ran a teacher training program in Oxford, England. Currently Elisabeth teaches at home and for teacher training courses all over the world.
FRANK OTTIWELL
is one of the most experienced Alexander Teachers in North America. For 30 years he was director of the Alexander Training Institure of San Francisco. A founding director of the American Center for the Alexander Technique (ACAT) in New York and California in the early sixties, he has also been the resident Alexander Technique teacher with the American Conservatory Theatre of San Francisco for the past 34 seasons, as well as a member of ACT's acting company. For the last decade Frank has been invited to teach master classes in Sweden, Finland, England and Switzerland.

*** MICHAEL D. FREDERICK
is an internationally recognized teacher in the field of Psycho-physical Re-education. He first trained in England as an Alexander Teacher with Walter Carrington and in America with Marjorie Barstow. Michael studied in the U.S. and Israel as a Feldenkrais Practitioner and has extensive training in Yoga. Michael also trained as an actor at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Bristol, England.
     
Michael is the founding director of the first three International Congresses on the Alexander Technique and has organized and taught over 100 workshops in the U. S. and Europe since 1978.
     Michael worked for two years at the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute, and taught for over a decade at The Old Globe Theatre in San Diego. He is past Chairman of the American Society for the Alexander Technique and is now on the Board of Directors of the Alexander Training Institute, LA. Currently Michael teaches privately in Los Angeles.

*** JOHN NICHOLLS
trained in London from 1973 to 1976 with Walter and Dilys Carrington, and stayed for eleven years, assisting the Carringtons daily on their teacher training course. He has subsequently directed Alexander teacher training programs in Melbourne, Australia, and Brighton, England. His book, The Alexander Technique: In Conversation with John Nicholls and Sean Carey, was published in 1991. During the last ten years, John has run post-graduate classes for teachers and has conducted seminars for the public in the USA, Europe, and Australia. In January 2003, he moved to the USA and is currently teaching in New York City.

*** LUCIA WALKER
lives in Oxford, England but trains and teaches internationally. Since qualifying as an Alexander Technique teacher in 1987, Lucia has taught individuals, groups, and on teacher training courses in Europe, America, and Japan. She continues to work as an independent dance teacher and performer specializing in improvisations.

*** LYN CHARLSEN
is director for the Alexander Technique Institute, Los Angeles. She has been an Alexander Technique teacher for the University of Southern California School of Theatre, USC Music School/Opera Division, and also for California State University. An Alexander Technique teacher for 27 years, Lyn trains A.T. teachers and practices in Van Nuys and San Monica, CA.
***STEVEN SHAW
is a teacher of the Alexander Technique Instituteand a former competitive swimmer. Over the past twenty years he has developed a revolutionary approach to swimming, The Shaw Method, which has helped thousands of people to find freedom and ease in the water. Apart from his passion for teaching, Steven is a keen swimmer. Steven Shaw trained as an Alexander Technique teacher in Tel Aviv, becoming certified in 1990. He is currently based in London, and regularly teaches in Canada, Estonia, Egypt, Holland, Israel, Japan, Malta, and America.
*** JUDY STERN
has been a physical therapist for 34 years and an Alexander Technique teacher for 17 years. Judy specializes in chronic or acute pain conditions, combining her knowledge of physical therapy and anatomy with her knowledge and skill as an Alexander Technique teacher. A senior member of the ACAT faculty, Judy also maintains a private practice in Rye, New York.

Martha Hansen Fertman*** MARTHA HANSEN FERTMAN
has
been teaching the Alexander Technique for thirty years. In 1983 she co-founded an innovative teacher training program that has evolved into the Alexander Alliance, an international consortium of Alexander teacher training. She comes to the Alexander Technique through a broad base of movement studies from all types of dance to T'ai Chi Chuan and Authentic Movement. Her training in AT includes a 10-year apprenticeship with Marjorie Barstow as well as studies with Catherine Wielopolska and Elisabeth Walker, all first generation teachers.

* BARBARA KENT
is former director of teacher training at the American Center for the Alexander Technique (ACAT) in New York. Barbara began her carreer by studying singing at Julliard School of Music. She is a certified Rubenfield Synergy Method Practitioner and a student of Carl Stough, integrating his principles of breathing coordination into her work. Barbara has been training Alexander Technique teachers and working in private practice for over 30 years in NYC.
ANNE H. WAXMAN
is a former faculty member for the American Center for the Alexander Technique (ACAT) in New York. She has also taught in the Actors Studio MFA program in New York. She was certified as an Alexander Technique teacher in 1984 and in 2003 became certified in Jessica Wolf's The Art of Breathing. Anne is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College where she studied Psychology and Dance. She practices in Manhattan and is in demand world wide as an Alexander Technique teacher.
MEADE ANDREWS
is a choreographer, dancer, actor, anatomist, and Alexander Technique teacher. Former Director for the dance program at American University in Washington DC, Meade currently teaches for the graduate acting program at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. She also teaches and gives workshops in Washington DC and NY.
** CAROL BOGGS
is a Movement Specialist, Dancer, Laban Analyst and Massage Therapist. She practices in Washington DC and teaches in the Vocal Studies department at George Mason University. She has been teaching the Alexander Technique for over 23 years.

** NANETTE WALSH
received her Master of Fine Arts in 1982 specializing in the linguistic analysis of movement. She received her teacher certification from the American Center for the Alexander Technique in 1995. In 1999 she began an intensive course of study with Peggy Williams and Walter Carrington in London; continuing until their deaths in 2003 and 2005 respectively. Nanette is a faculty member at AT-NYC's Teacher Training Program and a member of ACAT's faculty for Post Graduate Study. She currently teaches privately in New York City. Nanette is also a long-time practitioner of Tai Chi Chuan.

*** John Hunter
trained in London from 1981–84 with Misha Magidov. During and after his training he studied extensively with several first generation teachers. He has assisted with training courses in London and Oxford, and taught the Technique at the Royal Academy of Music for 20 years. He has worked in Austria, Brazil, Estonia, France, Finland, Germany, Spain, Swizterland and the US. He is particularly interested in how to facilitate communication between people who are interested in and studying Alexander’s ideas. To this end he is founding director and Chair of the Friends of the Alexander Technique, a registered uk charity.
